How the Tasting Works

Try it before you take it home.

Any bottle on our floor is $4 per taste. A real 10 mL pour served in a one ounce glass. No pressure, no lecture, no bad question.

The Mechanics

Priced openly, no games.

This is not a bar and it is not a free sample counter. It is a straightforward way to find out what you actually like before you commit to a bottle.

$4

Any bottle on the floor

Anything priced at $250 or less at retail is out on the floor and covered by that $4 per taste. Point at what you want to try, we pour it.

$5 to $20

The premium bottles

Bottles above $250 are kept separately and priced individually for tasting, typically $5 to $20 depending on the bottle. Ask us what is open.

10 mL

A real taste, not a shooter

Each pour is 10 mL, about a third of an ounce, served in a one ounce glass. Take your time with it.

A small number of bottles are not available for tasting: a few very limited, high-dollar releases, and the wine selection.

Give yourself some time.

Customers routinely walk in expecting a ten- or fifteen-minute stop and end up staying closer to forty-five. They read bottle stories, ask questions, and try things they never would have picked off a shelf. No pressure, no rush. This is a place worth giving yourself an hour for.

Picking one bottle for an event.

Wedding, reunion, retirement, holiday gathering. You need one spirit to fill a specific role and you do not want to buy ten similar bottles trying to guess. Come in, taste across the options side by side, leave with the one that works. That is exactly what the tasting is for.

Why It Exists

Most shops sell you a spirit on faith. We hand you the glass.

You would not buy a car without a test drive. Spirits should be no different. Sampling before you buy means you spend your money on the bottle you actually want, you discover things you would never have risked blind, and you build a cabinet full of favorites instead of regrets. As our customers put it: they let you try the liquor here so you don't get something you won't like out of the bottle.

How It Works

Four steps to your next favorite.

01

Tell us what you like

Walk up to the counter and start a conversation. A favorite pour, a flavor you chase, a bottle that let you down. We listen first.

02

Try before you buy

We pour you a few options to try side by side, so you are comparing with your own palate instead of guessing from a label.

03

Discover something unexpected

This is where the rare and lesser-known bottles come in. Often the one you fall for is one you had never heard of.

04

Take home the winner

You leave with a bottle you already love, not one you hope you will. That is the whole point of doing it this way.

Your Guides

The tasting is only as good as the person pouring.

We are enthusiasts, not authorities. Our team does not just hand you samples. We read what you are after, connect it to bottles you would never have found on your own, and tell you the story behind each pour. That is the difference between a taste and a discovery.

When it comes to taste, the only opinion that matters, is yours.

Good to Know

Ask us about the details of the tasting when you visit, or give us a call. We are happy to walk you through exactly how it works before you come in.
