What to Bring to a Naples Beach Party: A Spirits Shortlist

Check the rules first

Collier County beach access points and Naples city beaches have their own rules about alcohol and glass containers, and they are not identical everywhere. Enforcement varies. If you are going somewhere new, look it up before you pack, or call the access point. Worth two minutes.

What travels well

Ready-to-drink cocktails in cans. Purpose-built for this. No glass, no mixing, no measuring, and the good ones are made with real spirits. Chill them the night before, since a cooler maintains cold far better than it creates it.

A light aged rum. Handles heat better than most spirits and mixes with almost anything you can carry. Pairs with canned juice or soda without needing a recipe.

Blanco tequila. Same logic. Simple, bright, works with lime and soda water and nothing else.

A pre-batched cocktail in a sealed plastic container. Make it at home the night before, minus the ice. Bringing a bottle of something you mixed yourself and pouring for people is a genuinely nice move.

What to leave home

Anything that needs fresh citrus, since it will not survive the afternoon. Anything requiring a shaker, muddler, or more than one step. Anything you are proud of, because a good bottle deserves better than a paper cup and full sun. Cream-based anything, for reasons the heat will explain to you.

The bit nobody plans for

Bring more water than alcohol, and bring more ice than you think is reasonable. Heat, sun, and salt air accelerate everything. This is not a lecture, it is just how the afternoon goes better.

Pick it up on the way
